Services for Mrs. Brenda Faye Lee Guthrie, 65 of Tyler are scheduled for Friday, August 3, 2018 1:00 PM at St. James C.M.E. Church with Rev. Orenthia Mason eulogist and Rev. Emmanuel Henderson officiating. Interment will be held in Olivers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Brooks Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors.

Brenda Faye Lee was born on January 25, 1953 to Sam Curtis Lee and Lola Mae Williams Lee in Waskom, Texas.

She graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1972. She then attended Tyler Jr. College and East Texas State University.

Brenda made her Christian confession early in life and was a dutiful member of Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church. She worked as usher president, member of the Senior Choir and director of youth education. Later she joined fellowship with Carter Temple C.M.E. Church.

She was employed by Chapel Hill ISD and retired after her health began to fail.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and one great grandson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four sons, Kendrick Bell, Sr., Marcus Bell, Sr., Terrence Murphy, Sr., and Corey Cain. Two daughters, Schuyler Bell and Scharla Guthrie. 9 siblings, Ernest Lee, Sammy Lee, Sr., Lola Mae Lee, Raymond Lee, Bobby Ray Lee, Ricky Lee, Dorothy Jean Mills, Darlene Warren, Arthur Lee , Billy Ray Lee and Viselynn Clough; a special godmother, Arrillia Brager; 22 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing at the funeral home Thursday 12-8:00 PM.
