Graveside services for Betty L. Kniffen, 85, of Tyler, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with Wayne Kniffen and the Rev. Robert Carter officiating under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Betty was born on Nov. 22, 1927, in Fort Worth to the late Thomas Vincent and Zelma Mae Wroten. She passed away peacefully on March 9, 2013, in Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Thigpen; granddaughter, Melanie Kniffen; great-grandson, Justin Chase Kniffen; and siblings, Moody Wroten, Jack Wroten, Alice Daley and June Hastey.
Survivors include her children, Betty Jane Hallmark, Keith Kniffen and Wayne Kniffen; sister, Ruth Swick; and brothers, Ellzey Wroten and Bobby Joe Tullos; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Burks Walker Tippit, 215 E. Front St., Tyler.
