Barbara Ward Hunt was born Feb 12 1937 in Jacksonville, Texas to Ray and Nora Priestly. At age five her mother passed away her grandparents Annie and Lee raised she and her sister after having ten children of their own. Because no one in the home had a driver license she proceeded to get her hardship at the age of 12 She sat on two pillows and a quilt to reach the pedals and see over the dashboard of a 1937 Chevrolet truck. Barbara was the oldest living person in the Priestly family. She was a wealth of family knowledge and in the last few years we tried to ask as many questions as we could. Once Bonnie and Clyde drove up and sat on the porch with her Dad and ask directions she loved telling her life stories. She married JL Ward at the age of 15 and they had two children but she raised a houseful. She is survived by Michael Ward, Renea Caldwell,Deborah Dopson, Ray Kiker, and Misty Kilgore. Eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her Boston terrier Rocky. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Stacey Parsons and husband LD Brock.
