A celebration of the wonderful life of Anna Belle Pool Dorsey, 96, of Tyler will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, Tyler, with the Revs. Kim Beckham and David Tarr officiating. Music presented by longtime friends, Bill and Phyllis Aven. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Dorsey passed away peacefully Monday, May 20, 2013.
Mrs. Dorsey was born on Dec. 2, 1916, in Oak Hill to John B. and Nellie Harvey Pool, who preceded her in death along with her husband of 64 years, Eldon Dorsey; sisters, Myrtle Waller, Gladys Reed; brother, Sonny Pool; and grandson, Dave House. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist and actively served her church for many years. Mrs. Dorsey was loved for her caring and self-sacrificing nature. She is with Jesus, receiving her just reward for a godly life.
Ann is survived by her children, Verlyne House and Tony Dorsey; grandchildren, Debbie House Kubecka and Justin Dorsey; great-grandchildren, Megan Kubecka, Chelsey Kubecka, Audrey Kubecka, Grayson Dorsey; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, prior to the 2:30 p.m. service at Burks Walker Tippit in Tyler.
