Services for Alvin Wayne Owens, 76, of Tyler, are scheduled for Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Eitson officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Memorial Cemetery under direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Owens passed away July 3, 2018 in Tyler. He was born April 20, 1942 in Tyler. He was the owner and operator of Owens Septic Service for 27 years and also co-pastored Servant's Heart Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Ruby Owens; first wife, Linda Owens; second wife, Kathy Owens; stepchildren, Roxie Lance and Joy Rowan; grandson, Christopher Thomas Philpott; and five sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include wife, Sharon Owens of Tyler; children, Cynthia Denise Philpott and husband Tommy of Bullard, Marvin Dwayne Owens and wife Gwen of Lindale, Rebecca Dianne Gaskey and husband Shelby of Lindale; stepchildren, Joel Hukill and wife Amanda of Neches, John Franklin and wife Beth of California; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Gaskey, Timothy Gaskey, Marvin Owens, Joel Hukill, Rick Hukill and John Franklin. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelby Gaskey, Tommy Philpott, Mitchell Casey and James Michael Owens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.

Visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
