Funeral services for Timothy O. Brown, 90, Tyler, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 28, 2013, in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, Tyler, with the Rev. Ron Byrd officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Bascom Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Brown, Edward Brown, Larry Brown, Joshua Brown, Tony Weakley and Terry Weakley.
Timothy was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Quanah to the late Marvin Timothy Brown and Florence Green Brown. He passed away peacefully on Christmas morning at the Watkins-Logan State Veterans Home in Tyler.
He served in the U.S. Navy and retired after 20 years of honorable service, and then worked for East Texas Medical Center in the maintenance department. He loved the ocean, and serving in the Navy was his passion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Louise Brown; siblings, Lawrence D. Brown, Gerald Brown, Peggy Weakley, Milton Brown and Wilbert Brown.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ray Disher, of Ponchatoula, La.; nieces and nephews, Timothy Disher, Carl Disher, Larry Brown, Edward Brown, David Brown, Milton Brown, Zealand Sheen, Gayle Smith, Susan Smith, Terry Weakley, Tony Weakley, Julie George and Kim Nesbit.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 -7 p.m. Friday at Burks Walker Tippit, Tyler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
