S.W. "Cub" Randolph passed away on Sept. 25, 2013, at the age of 80.
Born in Sherman, on April 8, 1933, Cub attended high school in New London and was a graduate of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 1955 from Texas A&M University. He served in the military and was a retired captain of the United States Army. Cub's professional career was spent at TU Electric, where he retired after 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Randolph Jr. and Vanza Keller Randolph of Sherman; brother, W. Carl "Bear" Randolph, of St. Joseph, La.; and a sister, Lois Dean Randolph, of Blackjack.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Julia Murphy Randolph; three children; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Melissa Randolph daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Kyle Champion, and daughter and son-in-law, Charlyn and John V. Grijalva; seven grandchildren, Joe, Megan and Jessica Randolph, Courtney, Rachel and Samantha Jo Champion, and Katherine Anne Davis. He is also survived by sister, Billie Wald; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Harold Freeman; sister, Lavina Hopfe; sister-in-law, Wanda Carter; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service will be held on Sept. 30, 2013, at Stewart Funeral Home in Tyler.
