Services for Mr. Robert Michael "Bob" Cluff, age 71, of Lindale are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, in Lindale First Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Buck officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery near Mineola under direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale.
Mr. Cluff died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at The Hospice or East Texas HomePlace in Tyler. He was born on Sept. 9, 1942, in Springfield, Mass., to Richard and Dorothy Strobelberger Cluff and lived the majority of his life in the East Texas area. Mr. Cluff was a veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps on active duty from 1961 to 1969, and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Lindale First Baptist Church, employed by O'Reilly's Auto Parts and was preceded in death by a grandson, David Anthony Simmons Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shyrrie Cluff, of Lindale; children, Stephen Lowrie and wife Michelle, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Michael Cluff and wife Christine, of Astoria, N.Y., and Brandie Grant and husband Mike, of Lindale; grandchildren, Sawyer Lowrie, Roman Lowrie, Taylor Simmons, Emma Grant and Robert Grant; great-grandchildren, Jayden Simmons and Drake Simmons; sister, Jacque Akley, of West Springfield, Mass.; and niece, Maryanne Nihil, of West Springfield, Mass.
Pallbearers will be Mike Grant, Steve Lowrie, Tommy Mallory, Russell Bell, Randall Ricketts and Michael Cluff.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale.
