Services for Marjorie Butts will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Hilliard Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday. A graveside will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery, Van.
Mrs. Butts passed away at the age of 67 on July 21, 2014, in Van.
Marjorie Ann Rastetter Butts was born July 4, 1947, in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She had been a resident of Van for 16 years, formerly living in Horatio, Ark. She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church and Moore Grace Community Church. She graduated in 1965 from Iowa Falls High School as valedictorian of her class and attended the University of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vallard Butts; father, Jerald Rastetter; mother, Erma Irene Shafer Mulford; stepfather, Spencer Mulford; brother, Donald Mulford; and great-niece, Amanda Short.
Survivors include her two sisters, Janice Mulford, of Van, and Marilyn Hammarmeister and husband Roger, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepsister, Linda Whitney, of Spring Hill, La.; stepbrother, Wayne Mulford and wife Ruth, of Tyler; half sister, Lisa Davis, of Webster City, Iowa; nieces, Karry Short and husband Jason, of Van, and Kylene Hammarmeister, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nephews, Chirst Hammarmeister, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Casey Hammarmeister and wife Linda of Colorado Springs, Colo.; great-niece, Katie Short and son, Camden, of Van; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews in Colorado.
