Lindsay E. Cary Jr., age 90, of Tyler passed away in the mid-afternoon hours of Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. Lindsay was born on Aug. 31, 1923, in Houston. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, Lindsay played minor league baseball. While playing ball, he met the love of his life, Ozie Mae Buie. They were married in 1950 and have resided in Tyler for the last 63 years. Lindsay worked for the Tyler Rose Growers and was an avid golfer. He was a devout member of the New Covenant Fellowship Church in Tyler.
Lindsay is survived by his beloved wife, Ozie; and by one brother, William Cary.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lindsay Carl Jr.
Services for Lindsay E. Cary Jr. will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Pastor David Orban officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery.
