Lavonne Bethurum Watson, 84, of Tyler, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013. Mrs. Watson was born Dec. 6, 1928, in Paola, Kan.
She is survived by four children: Scott Watson and wife Kathy, of Tyler, Sharon Owens and husband Rodney, of Gladewater, Michael Watson, of Tucson, Ariz., and Robin Hunt and husband Billy, of Tyler; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Betty Ragsdale and husband Donald, of Tyler; her brother, Donald Lee Bethurum and wife Dana of Palestine; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Bethurum, and sister, Shirley Turman , wife of Billy Turman, of Tyler.
Mrs. Watson attended the Olivet Sunday School Class at Fifth Street Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Fifth Street Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating.
Mrs. Watson requested that her body be donated for scientific research to The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
