Mr. Lynn passed away March 12, 2014, in Tyler.
James Francis Lynn Jr. was born Oct. 18, 1936, in Detroit, Mich., to the late James Francis Lynn and Phyllis Godfredson Lynn. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He attended St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., and Princeton University. He lived in Tyler for 15 years, living previously in Aspen, Colo., and Washington, D.C. Jimmy worked in investment banking and created and owned restaurants all over the country. He was a passionate sports enthusiast, golf being his favorite. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence G. Lynn.
Survivors include his wife, Molly Grubb Lynn, of Tyler; five children, Karen Lynn Alveshire, James F. Lynn III, Sydney Lynn Richeda, James Tyler Lynn and James Taggart Lynn; brother, Thomas W. Lynn; eight grandchildren, Mackenzie, Molly Grace, Holly, Cory, Christopher, Alexandra, Nicholas and Spencer. He will be remembered by so many for his vigorous enthusiasm and contagious smile.
