Obituary

A memorial service for Graydon Jack Ellis, 85, of Bullard, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Emerald Bay Community Church with Dr. Darryle Dunks officiating.
Mr. Ellis passed away Oct. 3, 2013, under the care of Hospice of East Texas. He was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Columbus, Ohio, to Howard and Vera Ellis.
Gray graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Carol Louise Stroup in August of 1954. Mr. Ellis enjoyed playing golf at Emerald Bay and was a member of the Golden Tees. He was a 60 year Mason and a member of the Shriner's Drum and Fife Corps.
Gray is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 56 years, Carol Ellis.
He is survived by a loving family including his children, Mark Ellis and Jay Ellis, both of Tyler, Karen Keith, of Dublin, and Lee Ellis of Lorton, Va.; grandchildren, Bradley Keith, Brian Keith, Joshua Ellis, Arial Ellis, Jason Ellis, Tara Johnson, Benjamin Ellis and Zachary Ellis; and by great-grandson, James Luke Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Golden Tees at Emerald Bay.
