Services for Dr. Harlee A. Wright, 72, Athens, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at North Tenneha Church of Christ with Bro. Daryl Bowdre officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Dr. Wright died Nov. 16, 2013, in Carrollton.
He was born April 21, 1941, in Henderson. He was a graduate of Hill High School, Texas College and received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University-Commerce. He was a retired educator and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Lions Club, Athens, Teacher Education Program, Texas College. He was a public school teacher for Athens and Dallas independent school districts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlee and Murdie Wright; brother, Mac Wright; sister, Alyene; and three grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Landers Wright; sons, Michael Wright, Dallas, Harold Wright (Vanessa), Rowlett; daughter, Robbye Arthur (Kyle), Austin; brothers, Roy Wright, Dallas, Samuel Wright, Diamond Bar, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Public visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors and from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Garrett & Tucker Funeral Directors, Athens.
