William Carlton Ham

Services for William Carlton Ham, 83, of Canton are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Dr. Mark Robinson officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper.

He passed away March 28, 2013, in Cooper.

Mr. Ham was born April 16, 1929, in Luling to William Edgar and Mary Layer Ham.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton. Carlton grew up in Hopkins County in Sulphur Springs and served in the Army during the Korean War. Early in his career, he took a five-year leave of absence to help his dad farm in the Cooper area and later retired from Dallas Power & Light after 35 years. Carlton moved to Canton in 1970 and after retiring, worked another 10 years for the city of Canton. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard and going to his children's sporting events. He always made a sacrifice for his family.

Surviving are sons, Ronald and Regina Ham of Mount Enterprise, Craig and Julie Ham of Canton; daughter, Stacy and Marty Windham of Petal, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Jacob Ham, Brian Ham, Stephen Ham, Austin Ham, Ty Ham, Hannah Windham and Laura Windham; three great-grandchildren, Gage Griffin, Mia Ham and Sara Ham; a brother, Jearl and Genell Ham, of Cooper; and nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, R.C. and Earl Ham; and two sisters, Kathryn Brixey and Helen Ray.

Family will receive friends Monday, 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
