"Ronnie" Watson

Thomas R. "Ronnie" Watson, age 65, of Loganville, Ga., passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Corinth Christian Church in Loganville, Ga. Minister Don Hardison and Minister Lester Waters will officiate.

A reception for family and friends will follow at the church after the service.

Mr. Watson was a graduate of Loganville High School Class of 1965, the University of Georgia and Emory University Candler School of Theology where he completed his master's degree. He served in several churches in Georgia and Texas, including Mount Vernon Christian Church in Monroe, Ga., Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta, Ga., and last served at Brown Bridge Christian Church in Covington, Ga.

Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his father, Roy Watson in 1990.

He is survived by wife, Denise Whitley Watson, and mother, Emily Watson, both of Loganville, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Greg Depew, Richmond, Va., Beth and Clay Hightower, Roswell, N.M., Rachel Watson, Washington, D.C.; siblings, Randy and Cathy Watson, Cleveland, Ga., Jane and Michael Sweetwood, Mark and Jenny Watson, all of Loganville, Ga.; grandchildren, Megan and Bryan Depew, Richmond, Va.; father-in-law, Jerry Lester, Cleveland, Ga.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and Fred Tolar, Cleveland, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Emory ALS Center, Attn: Barry Steig, director of development, Department of Neurology, 1440 Clifton Road, Suite 112, Atlanta, Ga., 30322 in memory of Ron Watson.
