W. Eldon Bebee

The love of God, family and friends, and a life of integrity characterize the life of W. Eldon Bebee, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 19, 2013. He was greeted in heaven by his precious wife, Catherine, who preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 2013.
He was born in Spicewood on Jan. 1, 1924, and will be buried there. His family soon moved to Austin, where he graduated from Austin High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served a distinguished career in World War II as a member of the greatest generation. After the war, on an evening at church, he met the dark-eyed beauty Catherine Ann Yeargin, whom he would marry a short three months later. To this marriage came four children, daughter, Dayle Bebee Aulds, daughter, Carye Gillen and husband Jim; son, Don and wife Debbie; and son, Bill and wife Linda; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved their Mamaw and Pampaw.
Eldon's love for Jesus Christ was lived out through his 57 years of service at Hyde Park Baptist Church through his many contributions as chairman of deacons, Sanctuary Building Committee and commitment to the prayer ministry. He also served on both the Baylor University and the Baptist Foundation Board of Trustees.
He had a successful banking career, becoming the president of North Austin State Bank in 1956 at age 32, making him the youngest bank president in Austin. He had many friends, hunting and fishing buddies, business associates and church friends. He was a fine and gentle man and will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, the family suggests donations be made to Children at Heart Ministries , 1301 North Mays, Round Rock, 78664.
