Services for Sherry Jean Cagle Ivy, 62, of Whitehouse, will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Barron officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Whitehouse.
Ms. Ivy passed away Sept. 20, 2013, under the care of Hospice of East Texas. She was born Jan. 10, 1951, in Tyler to Roy Edwin and Peggy Herrington Cagle.
Sherry was born and raised in Tyler and was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. After high school, Sherry married and lovingly raised her family. She worked in many industries during her life and was actively involved in the VFW
Post 1799, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Sherry was saved and baptized at Friendly Baptist Church where she was a member. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was a seven-year cancer survivor.
Sherry was preceded in death by an infant son, Rocky Neil Ivy, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Cagle, and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Herrington.
She is survived by her loving family including her son, Roy Ivy and wife Lisa. of Rusk; parents, Roy and Peggy Cagle; a special someone, Larry Ivy; sister, Pam England North, of Tyler; brother, Edwin Wayne Cagle, of Humble; grandchildren, Valerie, Victoria and Kayla Ivy, Derrek and wife Nicole Alas; and great-granddaughter, River Mae Alas, all of Rusk.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of VFW Post 1799 of Tyler.
