Marty Allen of Novato, Calif., passed away on Nov. 12, 2012, from pancreatic cancer. He was born on July 13, 1947 in Tyler.
He attended Tyler Junior College from 1965 to 1967 and then received his B.A. from University of Texas
at Austin. He was with the United States Secret Service for 30 years until his retirement from the San Francisco Field Office. Marty will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, sense of humor and love of travel and music. He had many interests and will be missed dearly.
He's survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary; children, Brian and Kelly; granddaughter, Anna; aunt, Dorothy Allen; niece, nephews and cousins.
His funeral was held on Nov. 27, 2012, at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Novato, Calif., with Bishop P.J. McGrath of San Jose, Calif., celebrant. Family and close friends are invited to attend his burial service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler on Dec. 6, 2012, at 4 p.m. A reception will follow.
