Lucas Miller

Memorial services for Lucas Miller, 34, of Hawkins are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Antioch Baptist Church, 793 County Road 313 W., Tyler.

Mr. Miller passed away Oct. 6, 2012.

Lucas Eugene Miller was born Aug. 24, 1978, in Tyler.

He graduated in 1997 from Hawkins High School, where he played football and was in the Future Farmers of America. He graduated from an Emergency Medical Technician course in 2009. He lived in Ringold, Okla., for two years, and was a volunteer firefighter for the Ringold Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Miller was a cabinet maker, a carpenter and a vinyl siding specialist.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Myrean Newell and Roy Miller of Tyler; and uncle, Lynn Cooksey of Texarkana.

Survivors include his mother, Vicky Polk and husband Jim of Hawkins; father, Harold Miller of Tyler; three sisters, Alyssa Boswell of Valliant, Okla., Lori Price of Hurst and Audra Allen of Australia; brother, Jimmy Polk and wife Melinda of Kemp; many nephews and nieces; grandparents, Gene and Wynona Cooksey, of Ringold, Okla., and Denny Stevens of Hawkins; uncles and aunts, Jim and Sharron Miller of Tyler, Charles and Marilyn Miller of Tyler, Gilbert and Pat McCaslin of Lake Cherokee, Charlie and Carolyn Starr of Hawkins, Ronnie and Sherry Cooksey of Grand Saline; many cousins; and great-uncles and aunt, Joe and Carole Davis of London, England, and Don Cooksey Valliant, Okla.
