Keynee Salazar

Funeral services for Mrs. Keynee Ferguson Salazar, 45, Tyler, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Trinity Fellowship Church with the Rev. Cleran Gipson officiating.
Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.
Mrs. Salazar died July 16, 2013, at The Hospice of East Texas.
She was born Feb. 29, 1968, in Tyler and was a lifelong resident of Smith County. She was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School, Tyler Junior College and Kilgore Police Academy. She was a member of Church of the Living God and was a police officer for Tyler Police Department and supervisor and sergeant at TDCJ at Winnsboro and Palestine. She had received numerous recognitions of outstanding service during her career at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cornelius J. Ferguson; and son, Damien A. Carter.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Salazar, Tyler; son, Adrian Salazar, Tyler; daughter, Alicia Salazar, Tyler; mother, Algoma Ferguson, Tyler; god daughter, Abril Kelley, Tyler; family friend, Earlene Kelly, Tyler; grandson, Jermyah Carter, Tyler; special aunt, Willie Jean (Willie C.) Wheeler, Tyler; and uncles, Johnny J. Blair, Tyler, and Nathan (Minnie) O'Quinn, Wichita, Kan.
Family will receive friends Friday evening at 10361 Texas Highway 31 East.
