John D. Yowell

Graveside services for John D. Yowell, 71, Troup, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Ebenezer Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Ron Klingsick officiating under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mr. Yowell died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 1, 1942, in Vivian, La., to the late John D. Reep and Syble Metts.
Mr. Yowell was a volunteer firefighter for many years at the Arp Fire Department. He served in the U.S. Army, obtaining the rank of E-4, and retired as a pumper for the Fina Oil Co. after 21 years of service. John had been a resident of Arp since 1944 and graduated from Arp High School.
John leaves his wife of 20 years, Brenda Davis Yowell, of Troup; sons, Brandon Yowell and wife Becky, of Van, and Danny Rosenberg and wife Brandi, of Prosperity, S.C.; five grandchildren; brothers, Leonard C. Yowell and wife Joyce, of Troup, Don Reep and wife Leala, of Arp, Dale Reep, of Somerville; sisters, Martha Yowell, of Tyler, and Pam Paul and husband Jerry, of Maude.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014.
Pallbearers will be Arp firefighters.
