John "Rusty" Barrett, 69, of Flint passed away on Sept. 24, 2013, in Tyler.
Rusty, an electrical designer for S&B Eastman, was born on June 7, 1944, in Mangum, Okla. He spent his early years in Mangum and the remainder of his childhood in various places in Oklahoma, graduating in Claremore, Okla., in 1962.
Following high school, he served in the Air Force for eight years and was a sergeant upon his discharge, having worked in medical administration. Following his military service, he attended school, then began a career in drafting and design.
In 1977 he married Teresa Ann Rosencutter. They lived in many places, following Rusty's work, and settled in Flint in 1991. He was a loving husband and father. He loved to sing and was a member of The Fishers of Men Fishing Club.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, of Flint; sons, Randy Barrett, of Tulsa, Okla., Troy Barrett, of Wichita, Kan., Jack Hamilton, of McKinney; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 Texas Highway 64 West, Tyler.
