Janice Criss

Services for Janice Criss, 55, Tyler, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at College Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Kennedy Young Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Tyler, under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors.

Miss Criss died Nov. 14, 2012, in Tyler.

She was born June 30, 1957, in Tyler, to the late Willie and Ola Mae Jones Criss.

She attended Robert E. Lee High School and The University of Texas at Tyler and Prairie View A&M University, receiving Bachelor of Science and and Master of Science degrees. She was a retired school counselor. She was a member of College Hill Baptist Church where she served on the hospitality committee and taught Vacation Bible School. She was an avid reader and loved arts and crafts.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Willie Criss Jr., and sister, Barbara Porter.

Survivors include son, Brad Criss Lampton, Tyler; brother, Marvin Criss, Tyler; sister, Lynda Williams and Evelyn Criss-Williams, both of Tyler, and Josephine Criss-Catanach, Dallas.

Family will receive friends noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
