Jack David Ledkins

Jack David Ledkins, age 74, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Tyler. He was born on Thursday, June 23, 1938, in Peterman, Ala., to the late Hamilton and Genievive Ledkins. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mineola where he served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. He was the past president of the Rotary Club in Lindale and Mineola.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a stepfather, Thomas Higdon.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy Ledkins, of Mineola; three sons, David Ledkins and wife Susan, of Hawkins, Daniel Ledkins and wife Wendy, of Mineola, and Mark Ledkins and wife Alisa, of Mineola; a brother, Felix Ledkins and wife Lorraine, of The Villages, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Smith and Sue Price, both of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Jaci, Marisa, Logan and wife Kara, Jacob and wife Michele, Nathan, Trent and Joshua; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Baptist Church Mineola, Building Fund.

Visitation for Mr. Ledkins will be on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church in Mineola on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Dr. Mark Neeley officiating.

Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Mineola.
