Harold Ray Larison

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. This day, Dec. 10, 2013, Harold Ray Larison, 82, of Tyler went to be with his heavenly Father.
Funeral services for Harold will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler. Services will be officiated by Sam Fisher with interment in Cathedral in the Pines.
Harold was born March 5, 1931, in the Pine Springs community to the late Basil and Lola Larison. He graduated from Tyler High and joined the U.S. Navy in 1948 as an Air Force training deviceman, teaching young pilots to fly. Upon his discharge, Harold attended Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a BS in electrical engineering. After 35 years, he retired from E-Systems Inc. of Greenville as a director of engineering services.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary West and Dorothy Burden. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy; three children, Rickey Larison, of Tyler, Cheryl Hebert, of Chandler and Wendy Hare, of Greenville; a brother, John Robert Larison, of Tacoma, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Harold was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and cherished friend to many. He enjoyed traveling, camping with the Rose City Sams RV Club and spending time with family, friends and church family. He was an accomplished wood carver, winning several awards.
Pallbearers are Shannon Hebert, Tate Larison, Landon Moser, Jake Donley, Charles Williams and Colton Terrell. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Rose City Sams RV Club.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Burks Walker Tippit in Tyler.
