Services for James Edward "Ed" Crawley, 88, of Tyler will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Wiley officiating. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Ed went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, in Tyler. He was born Dec. 22, 1924, in Smith County to the late Mitchell and Nell Spier Crawley. He lived in Tyler most all his life. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II
and was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Tyler. He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Crawley, and by two sisters, Juanita Whitmore and Norma Barbee.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Gabriel Crawley; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Danny Adams, all of Tyler; a sister, Louise Defrengasco of Norristown, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Josh Adams and his wife Kim of Spring and Ross Adams of Hutto.
Pallbearers will be Josh Adams, Ross Adams, Danny Adams, Charles Hill, Ron Gabriel and Brian Gabriel.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.
