Funeral service for Mrs. Charlene "Char" L. McCormack, age 77, of Hideaway, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov, 25, 2013, in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindale with the Rev. Steven Paradis officiating. Private entombment will follow in the Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale.
Mrs. McCormack died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at her residence in Hideaway. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on Sept. 25, 1936, to the late Lyndon Celestine and Mary Theresa Barhorst Francis and was formerly of Sylvania, Ohio, before moving to Hideaway in 1993. Mrs. McCormack graduated from Julienne Catholic High School in Dayton, Ohio, and retired from General Motors
after 28 years. She enjoyed most the time spent with her grandchildren, her many international family trips and traveling the country to attend horse shows with her three children. Mrs. McCormack was an avid gardener and golfer, belonging to both the Ladies 9 and 18-hole Golf Clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George Clarence Francis.
Mrs. McCormack is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Ray McCormack, of Hideaway; son and daughter-in-law, James S. and Holly Joy McCormack, of Morganton, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelli R. and Dennis M. Brown, of Milledgeville, Ga., and March M. and Stephen F. Ferguson Jr., of Tyler; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrel and Judy Francis, of Dayton, Ohio, and David and Louise Francis, of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Charles Upthegrove, of Dayton, Ohio, and Sonja and Jim Ralph, of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, J. Patrick McCormack, of Boone, N.C., and Matthew R. McCormack, of West Point, N.Y., Michael James Ferguson, of Tyler, Mackenzie Kate Ferguson, of Tyler; four stepgrandchildren, Stephanie R. York, Abby R. Marks, Spencer B. Marks and Aaron J. Marks.
Serving as pallbearers will be James S. McCormack, Stephen F. Ferguson Jr., Michael J. Ferguson and Dennis M. Brown.
The Rosary will be recited Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, beginning at 3 p.m. in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home chapel and the family will receive friends following until 5 p.m.
