Carol Ann Hafner

Carol Ann Hafner passed away peacefully on July 10, 2013, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, where she was also born on May 9, 1957. She was preceded in death by her father, Hayden Hafner Sr.
Her survivors include her mother, Allene Hafner; her brother, Hayden Hafner Jr. and his wife Donna, son, John, daughter, Katy; and sister, Jan Hafner James; and a host of friends.
Carol received her B.A. and her master's degrees from The University of Texas at Tyler. She was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and a member of First Baptist Church, Tyler.
Carol enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and Europe, genealogy, collecting Christmas ornaments, ceramic villages, and hand-blown glass figurines, visiting with people, loved animals, and listening to music. She was a most wonderful daughter, sister, and friend. She was employed at The University of Texas at Tyler, and finished her career with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. She was always very interested in sharing the unusual and interesting wildlife stories and pictures that came across her desk.
Visitation will be Friday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, 215 E. Front St., Tyler, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A memorial service will be at First Baptist Church, Tyler (downtown campus) on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 10 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Pike Wisner. Burial will precede the memorial service at 9 a.m. in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Tyler.
