Ashley Prothro Trant died in Lafayette, La., on March 27, 2013, after a brief illness at the age of 31. She was born Feb. 18, 1982, in Dallas to Thomas and Kimberly Prothro of Tyler. She graduated from Grace Community School in 2000 and attended Texas A&M University
in College Station, graduating with a degree in biomedical engineering in December 2003.
Ashley married her first love, Travis Wheeler Trant, on Aug. 24, 2002. The Lord blessed them with four beautiful children, Amon, 8, Garrett, 6, Cody, 4, and Anna Clair, 2. Ashley was a wonderful mother and wife who loved her family with every ounce of her being. She loved life and was a blessing to all who knew her. Her friends knew her and loved her like a sister. She didn't form casual relationships, but developed lifelong, loving friendships.
Ashley is survived by her husband and four children; her parents; her brother, Evan Prothro and wife Julie, of Austin; her maternal grandparents, Allen and Arlene Burt, of Tucson, Ariz.; her in-laws, Sam and Tricia Trant of Tyler; Clay and Kera Trant of Miami, Fla.; Joshua and Heather Trant of Yonkers, N.Y.; and Katie and Nathan Jennings of College Station. Ashley will be missed by all and a day will not go by that she will not be remembered.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler.
All are invited to attend the Orthodox Christian funeral, Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home. A private family burial will follow. All are invited to attend a celebration service at Bethel Bible Church, 17121 U.S. Highway 69 S., Tyler, at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethel Bible Church Benevolence fund designated for the Trant family.
