Arthur Earl O’Quinn

A celebration of life for Arthur Earl O'Quinn will be held Monday, June 17, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the Gathering Room at Glenwood Church of Christ with Lee Browning and Reggie Howel officiating.
Earl passed away peacefully on June 13, 2013, at his home under the care of The Hospice of East Texas with his family by his side. He was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Tucson, Ariz., to B.J. and Ruby Myers O'Quinn.
Earl was raised in Lytle and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, after which he graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in transportation, moving to Tyler in 1978.
For 33 years, Earl was co-owner of Haws Roofing Co., retiring in 2010. After retirement, Earl enjoyed playing golf, woodworking and traveling to Taos, N.M., where he and his wife, Melinda, would spend as much time as possible at their secondary home. His great love and joy of his life was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Earl was a member of Glenwood Church of Christ.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 38 years, Melinda O'Quinn, of Tyler; children, Traci Brown and husband Rob, of San Antonio, Amy Mullins and husband Ryan, of Tyler, and Jason O'Quinn and wife Holly, of Farmers Branch; sister, Katie LaVerne, of Lytle; and grandchildren, Zachary, Audrey, Emily, Will, Jacob and Johnny.

Graveside services were held in Lytle Cemetery on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Lytle.
