A memorial service for Richard L. Alexander, 89, of Tyler will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church with Dr. Chris Pulliam officiating.
Mr. Alexander passed away March 15, 2013, in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Lakewood, Ohio, to Edward Everett and Martha Lash Alexander.
Richard served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at Ohio Wesleyan University. He loved spending time with his friends and playing golf at Hideaway for the last 30 years.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Philip Alexander; his first wife, Betty Jane Alexander; and his brother, James Alexander.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 26 years, Sandra Alexander, of Tyler; daughter, Audrey Steloh and husband Bob, of Hendersonville, N.C.; stepchildren, Katherine Whitmire, of Round Rock, Dennis Bradley Glover and wife Susan, of Waco, and Kyle Wayne Glover and wife Sharon, of Whitehouse; and by siblings, Philip Alexander and wife Alice, of Rocky River, Ohio, Roger Alexander and wife Betty Jo, of Rocky River, Ohio, and Marilyn Low, of Lakewood, Ohio.
