John V. "Jack" Sinclair, 90, passed away on March 3, 2013. John was born in Tyler to James V. and Anabel Sinclair.
John attended Tyler schools, graduating in the class of 1940 from Tyler High School. He attended college at LSU, Julliard and Eastman School of Music and Indiana University, receiving a doctor of musical arts degree. He taught piano at several colleges.
John served in the Army during World War II as a chaplain's assistant. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary H. Sinclair, Ruth Landress; and brother, James T. Sinclair.
Surviving John are two sisters, Anne Walker, Houston, and Faye Sinclair, Alamogordo, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
John attended Grace Bible Church.
A family graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Rose Hill Cemetery.
