James W. McLane Jr.


FRANKSTON - Graveside services for James W. McLane Jr., age 89, of Tyler, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Frankston City Cemetery, Frankston, with The Very Rev. M.L. Agnew Jr. officiating.

Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Mr. McLane passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in Tyler.

He was born July 25, 1923, in Frankston. Mr. McLane was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a petty officer. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Tyler. He attended Texas A&M University and the University of Texas, Austin, before enlisting in the Navy in 1941. After working 37 years as an accountant for EBASCO Services in New York City and Houston, Mr. McLane retired to the Frankston area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Walter McLane Sr. and Cora Ellen Beard McLane, and sister, Janice McLane Phillips.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Matthews McLane, of Tyler; son, James T. McLane and wife Evelyn, of Tyler; daughters, Nancy Jean McLane Kaim and husband Solomon, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Naomi Ellen McLane Perkins and husband Tom, of Tyler; grandchildren, James McLane and wife Dana, John McLane, Shaina Kaim, Max Kaim and Madeline Perkins; nephew, Johnny Hardman; nieces, Janisue Hardman Beard and Jeannie Hardman Malone.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.

Memorials may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
