James Malcolm Massey, devoted husband, loving daddy, granddaddy, great-granddaddy and faithful friend, was born Feb. 10, 1921, in Oil City, La. He left this earth on Feb. 9, 2013, in Wichita Falls at the age of 91. A celebration of James' life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Lindale.
James and Joyce Henderson were married June 28, 1948, in Lindale. James and Joyce celebrated 64 years of marriage together.
James gave his life to the Lord when he was 17 years old. He served Him faithfully over the years.
James served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II for 3 1/2 years and in the Air Force for one year during the Korean War.
James worked for Exxon Company U.S.A. for 33 years before retiring in 1982.
James enjoyed camping and traveling with family and friends all over the United States.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Terrell and Lelia Massey; a brother, Randolph Massey; and a sister, Vera Pittman. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Massey; three children and spouses; 10 grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters.
