Services for Barbara Brittain Lewis, 73, of Tyler will be on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Green Acres Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Tim Roberts officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Mineola at 2 p.m. under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lewis passed away Feb. 17, 2013.
She was born July 17, 1939, in Jacksonville to F.L. and Vera Mims.
Barbara grew up in Mineola and attended Mineola schools. She attended Henderson County Junior College and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree from Texas A&M University. Barbara taught elementary school in Chapel Hill, Azle, Nacogdoches, Hawkins and Tyler. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Brittain in 1989; husband, James N. Lewis in 2005; stepfather, Charles Hennington; and stepsister, Alma Ruth Scott.
She is survived by her loving family including her sons, Tim Brittain and wife Brenda of Estes Park, Colo., Mark Brittain and wife Charlene of White Oak and Doug Brittain of Beaumont; brother, Gary Mims and wife Lyn of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; grandchildren, Zachary Brittain, Reagan Brittain, Mandy Brittain, Stephanie and Caleb Stephens, Bryson and Jill Brittain, and Bree and Eric Wright; and great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Kinsley and Emmah. She is also survived by one niece and three nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bryson Brittain, Zachary Brittain, Eric Wright, Caleb Stephens, Dale Crawford and John Childs.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
