Awadhesh Chaudhary, age 85, of Tyler passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at his home.
Chaudhary was born on July 4, 1927, in Hussainpore, Bihar, India, where he was a consummate learner. He earned two bachelor's degrees from Patna University, India. After arriving in United States, he earned master's degrees from Indiana University and the University of Michigan before getting his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan as well.
His love of a small town, warm weather and a positive experience with Texas College as an intern brought him back to Texas College in 1975. He was a demanding professor who put lot of energy into teaching his students and expected them to excel.
He was a lifelong student of Shakespearean literature and his crowning achievement was the publication of his book titled "A New Approach To Shakespeare's Early Comedies." He loved his extended family. Several hours on every Sunday were reserved to call on family members and friends spread throughout America.
Services for Chadhary will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
